Getting to North Wales
There is an excellent direct train service from many major cities in the UK to Bangor station, which is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Virgin trains run from London Euston to Bangor as part of the mail train service to Holyhead. Holyhead being a major ferrt link to Dublin in Irland. Train times are connected with local buses to Llanberis where we suggest you base yourself. There is also an excellent Taxi rank just outside the Train station where taxis can transfer you to Llanberis. £10 per taxi ride approx 2006!

www.ryanair.com, www.easyjet.com, www.jet2.com, www.baairlines.com and www.bmibaby.com all have reasonable and reqular flights from many of UK airports to Geneva International Airport. Geneva Airport is about one and half hours drive South of Chamonix.
Geneva Airport to Chamonix
There are many ways of getting to and from the Airport.
Transfering by Car
If you are on a course with another person/s it may work out cheaper to hire a car from the Airport together for a week rather than everybody paying a transfer fee. This may help with any transport issues and add flexibility to yourselves. We can help connect all parties. If you are hiring a car it may be cheaper to hire the car from the French side of the Geneva Airport. The Airport has both a French and Swiss side accessed by a customs control point. Watch for the bell!
Transfer Company
The most popular method of transfer is by transfer mini bus. There are many companies that do this, plenty speak good English. The advanyage of this is that they wil pick you up and drop you off at your Hotel Door. Just watch out for on line booking systems that cancel your booking after you have made the booking! Best check all is OK by phone prior to leaving.

The Bus stops at La Feyat, st Gervais la Bain and Chamonix and infact stops outside the Chauminere Hotel where we recommend in Chamonix. It is very reasonable and takes about 2 hours from Chamonix to Geneva (30 euros each way 2006 price)

Train
It is possible to take the Euro Star from London to Paris and then take th Train to Chamonix easily. From Geneva Airport you have to take the train from down stairs to Geneva Central and then change again to get to Chamonix. This is the least used mode of transfer but still is very reasonable and not much longer than the Bus.
