Scrambling
There is nothing better than wondering off the path into some rough ground where easy climbing moves can lead you to a more exposed position. Generally most folk out scrambling enjoy the freedom of quieter routes than the more heavily trodden main paths. Sometimes the degree of scambling may need the use of a rope to safeguard the odd tricky step. A rope is often an essential back up piece of kit which occasionally needs to be used to protect a difficult step from a potentially serious slip. Through getting plenty of scrambling you can improve  your experience travelling over rough terrain and enable you to pick a safe route along the ridge. We aim to give you the movement, rope work and route finding skills to negotiate your own adventures or just follow on with the security of one of our qualified staff.

Ridges and Rock
To attempt more difficult scrambles (grades 2 or 3) you need to have a certain amount of rope work experience to enable you to safe guard yourself and partner/s. Combining walking and some rock climbing judgement and rope skills allows the more adventurous scrambler to go further in safety.  Some multi pitch  rock climbing is a handy experience in this situation. Most scrambles do actually appear in many old climbing guide books as rock climbs!
Skye’s Cuillin Ridge
The ultimate British day out for the mountaineer. Up there with any great walk of the world. A must for every person. A long high mountain ridge along the rugged coastline of Skye. The journey is contanstly  weaving through fine Gabro rock Towers with breath taking views across the Scottish Islands and back to the Scottish Mainland. After warming up on one of the many fantastic long ridge scrambles the team will make a one day or more commonly a two day ascent of the Cullen Ridge.
